Let Us Dance Poem by Mary Champion

Let Us Dance

Come let us dance!
Let's dance the night away.
Time for romance
and as our bodies sway
and glide to some sweet melody,
maybe we'll fall in love
if that's our destiny.

Come let us dance,
succumb to music's charms.
Give love a chance
here in each other's arms
let rhythm guide our falt'ring feet.
Let's lose our caution to
its strange hypnotic beat.

Come let us dance!
This eerie orchestra
fashioned a trance,
some occult formula,
whose magic made us realize
we've waited far too long?
Let's try this love for size.

Come let us dance!
Let's cast our cares away.
Time for romance
and as our bodies sway
and glide to this old melody,
maybe we'll find, at last,
our highest destiny.
