Liberty Poem by isaac cheong

Liberty

Why is my appetite satiated
When my stomach is empty
When am I anxious
When things are going right
Why is my heart heavy
When my mind is still
Why am i worried
When i am supposed to be happy
Sometimes when pleasure becomes an obsession
When love becomes a burden
When food is no longer for the body
When thoughts takes on a life of its own
And the fear of uncertainty rules
It is time to reckon my thoughts does not define me
It is not I per se
I have the liberty to step aside, observe, detach and let it go.
