Lie Poem by Joshua Wyatt

I walk into the bathroom,
Stare into the mirror.

I stare for a few moments,
looking deep into my reflections eyes.

I stare into the mirror
I stare and say a lie.

I lie to myself.
I lie because i have to.
I lie so that i will eventually believe it.
I lie in order to protect my friends.

The truth is cannot remain.
The truth will destroy everything.
The truth is a plague to me.
The truth must be covered

I will say this lie.
Then start to think it.
My thoughts will turn to beliefs.
And my beliefs will make it truth
