Life’s Hidden Rewards

When heart and soul we lay Christ down
When truly we’ve believed
Life’s precious jewels eternal crown
Are inwardly received

Invisible to heathen eyes
To untrained souls unknown
Exposed to Him alone who’s wise
Sitting on Heaven’s throne

Our just rewards in Christ are found
In whom we’re more than blessed
Secretly veiled on hallowed ground
Until our day of rest

We live ourselves our God to give
We give through constant love
Living to serve and serving to live
Through Jesus’ strength above

Regardless pain or high the cost
Or place to rest our head
We heal the sick we find the lost
And raise the walking dead

It’s not by power or by might
That anyone should boast
But through the council through The Light
Of Jesus’ Holy Ghost

Thus sanctified as Jesus’ queen
We train our ears on high
We lift our eyes to that unseen
And cease to wonder why

Wisdom teaches to understand
Obedience makes us true
Standing as one in Jesus’ hand
We’ll reap the harvest due
