Life Support Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Life Support

Push me off a cliff
tie yourself to my waist
only to fool me
with your sly shadow;
you deceive me, love

Whispers clog my ears
I’m handcuffed to my doom
my mind sets me free
only to be pulled down
by the heart you misled

No longer human
barely a living soul
yet stop breathing please,
stop being my life support
stop being my life support
