Life, The Fastest Dream Poem by Garba Ado Ibrahim

Life, The Fastest Dream

Oh! Dear sweet life,
You are faster than,
The strike of lightining,
In crying sky,
As if a minute ago,
Happy was running around,
Barefooted in my family's home,
The expected guest has come,

Yet here i am in another home,
Leaving you in grief and pain,
Have i not been with you?
Were we not happy,
Smile and laugh together?

My relatives i am sure,
You still see me,
In the eyes of your mind,
My friends you know we spent days,
Weeks and months to years together,
Do you remember that day,
wwen i told you a funny story,
That made you laugh with tears?

With you my opinions were shared,
Once one of you i was,
But today here,
One out of you i am,
Where you could not hear my voice,
And i could hear you voice only,
If could hear mine,
Here where i am,
As the sun rises and falls,
Sooner or later would be,
Where you would be,
So you start making preparation,
Before it is late.
