In an endless place beyond the skies,
Is where our tale of sisterhood lies.
There's Sol the Bright, with a heart so warm,
Spreading light and heat from her fiery form.
Geo the Grounded, where waters flow,
And whose islands breathe with the plants that grow.
Then Luna the Little, youngest of three,
Who likes the darkness of night to roam free.
But Luna is jealous of the other two,
For they can do things that she cannot do.
She feels left out, like she does not belong,
‘Cause there's Geo with Sol and she tags along.
So, shyly she spoke as Geo was turning,
And whispered to Sol, who stood, still burning:
"How can I compete? You're always so bright,
"I only reflect what is yours by right.
"And you allow Geo's children to see,
"While here in the dark sits little old me.
"You grant your gifts, allowing life to thrive,
"Without you Geo would never survive.
"And Geo's children all worship the day,
"They see you shining and come out to play".
"Yes", offered Sol with a subdued sigh,
"But I'm often too hot and Geo grows dry.
"The children of Geo have also grown wise,
"They won't look at me, lest I blind their eyes.
"Too much of my heat can make them feel ill,
"More so than that light of yours ever will.
"Please don't compare your each task to mine,
"For Luna, it's you who's the most divine:
"Firstly you make Geo's seas rise and fall,
"And on those tides some depend after all.
"Then when you shine, you've billions of friends,
"Who sparkle with you, until the night ends.
"Whereas I simply can't join in your fun,
"The time is all yours when daytime is done".
And with that, Geo had tuned once more,
Ready with words to settle the score:
"I had some thoughts as I was listening",
Said Geo now, with waters glistening,
"Sol may make sure I come to no harm,
"But you bring my children untold calm.
"They gaze in wonder at your glowing white,
"And the man in you, waves to them, goodnight,
"They wish on your friends, in the velvet black,
"And send all their love to yourself and back.
"They study your skin and count all your scars,
"Then dream beneath your blanket of stars.
"You help maintain my steadiest angle,
"Without that seasons would surely entangle.
"And so vital is your delicate light,
"To help my life navigate me by night.
"You are revered for your wisdom and mystery,
"And have been throughout all life's history,
"To visit you first, there of course was a race,
"Now you've mirrors, footprints and flags on your face.
"Then, little Luna, if you know what to do,
"You can split Sol and I so no light gets through.
"An eclipse, my dear, what a sight that presents,
"My children flock to see such events.
"So if you weren't here, if you were to flee,
"A disastrous effect it would have on me.
"We're more than just sisters, more than just friends,
"On you the balance of my life depends.
"You see" said Sol, "Though you may be small,
"You're worth so much, perhaps most of all.
"Know that comparing yourself to your peers,
"Will only bring sadness, only bring tears.
"So focus your heart on not what we do,
"But how you are loved, loved for being you.
There you will feel your self-worth increase,
There you'll find happiness, there you'll find peace.
