Listen Noah!
With our feeble arms
We've built
Newer and higher embankments
Against the coming floods.
Whenever a ship sank
The carpenters built another.
Memories of the future alone
Kept our hope alive.
Through the centuries
We heard the wailing of the drowned
Everywhere.
Our miracle:
We always survived.
