Little Death Poem by Josh Silvers

Little Death

a smile runs across her face
while a tear runs down her cheek
a sparkle lites up her eyes
just before that moment of letting go
hands start to shake with no control
cries of 'how can this be' and 'why'?
her body becomes pale with no life
being sucked by that one sentence
of pain and failure which can only
lead to more questions without answer
tears fly uncontrollably and wild
breathing almost stops, it hurts to see
sadness and disgust lines his face
his heart begins to whither
'it will all be okay' he says
wishing he had never spoke at all
trying to move a single muscle
beside his mouth that could suddenly
make him disappear off this earth
take this pain away and forget it all
but he is stuck with this regret
of knowing what he's become
and how it will never be the same
