Longing To Be Her: A Poem Of Insecurity And Desire Poem by Dona Franco

Longing To Be Her: A Poem Of Insecurity And Desire

The thought of her, before and during my time,
Makes my heart ache, and my mind to chime,
Thoughts of her bring pain and insecurity,
Tearing at my soul with ferocious tenacity.
Insecurities rise, burying me deep,
As I long for her qualities, to keep.
Her little, cute eyes, I wish they were mine,
So that I too, could make your heart shine,
Capturing candid moments, just as she,
A cherished memory, for you and me.
And gaze upon them with tender adoration,
A symbol of our love, a pure dedication.
I long for a body like hers
To fit snugly next to you, like she does
I wish to be close to you as she is to you
Her pictures in your private gallery, too,
For I wish to be close to you like she,
To be cherished and loved with equal degree.
I yearn for the same level of significance
So you'd come running when I need assistance
If only I were as pretty as she,
You'd flaunt me too, for all to see,
If my wit matched hers, you'd be attentive
Our conversations would be engaging and inventive
To make you laugh, as she can do,
And keep you engaged, without any rue,
To be her, in every way I can,
For I desire to be her in every way,
Engrossed in our time together, and never stray.
I wish I were her, so much that you'd break,
Another's heart, so our love we could make.
