Longitudinal Solitude Poem by Leslie Xavier

Longitudinal Solitude

This, my sleepless solitude;
goodbyes still ringing; the day you left, but why?
Near me, no, I knew you were to go;
voids I'm used to, my heart, my heart!
No answer, I wait for you, chained;
forgive me for feeling so; I seethe, am mad.

Stones are hurled, mocking digs;
I wouldn't mind if you were near.
I have hopes, no more gold;
lying here in anguish as my bowels burn.

Will you be kind and smile for me,
or will you frown, that moment I dread.
I just want to feel your breath,
miles and seas, Oh, I care less.
