Lookin Up... Poem by bob barci

Lookin Up...

Lookin’ up
tryin’ to spot some stars,
but I don’t see many up there tonight.
To my left,
I do see a small cluster of brighter ones,
but without my glasses on
I can’t tell if it’s a Dipper or not.
Lookin’ straight ahead
at the cars goin’ by,
I wonder where they could all
be headed for this Friday night.
When the corner light is red,
and the line of cars is long enough,
it looks as though the drivers
take a glance and spot me
on the porch here, lookin’ out at them.
I know there are more stars
up there than I can see right now,
but, too many, too bright, street lights block their view.
