Looking At You Poem by Jean Renwick

Looking At You

I am looking at you in my mind
sitting in a crowded train and
it excites me.

I am looking at you in a mirror;
since my love for you
fades me into shadow.

I am looking at you through rippling waters;
for you have become essential
in my existence.

I am looking at you in sunbeams shining.
The brightness of my life
shines from you.

I need not look at you in the flesh.
My desire for you and your gentle touch
are always with me.

I feel your presence, how can I not,
when you are part of me now, just as
my soul belongs to you.

I am looking at you, and hope
I am seeing you true.
