Lost America Poem by Thaddeus McDougleberry

Lost America

The old America
Is dead and gone
It died in the night
Some time ago
We know not when

Can it be again?
Assuredly not
That historical moment
Has passed forever

But the old virtues
Can live again
In other forms

And both God and nature
Will have their revenge
Upon this contemptible nation
