Lost At Sea Poem by Nicholas Wayde Turner 24

Lost At Sea

He acts like another person when he’s with her.
Everything we once knew is now a blur.
The water’s rising higher and higher as each day passes.
And he’s drifting further and further away.
He doesn’t call out for help.
He just sits in complete silence hoping someone will come along.
He doesn’t realize that he needs to make the first step.
All the dreams that were once reality are now turning into distant memories.
He’s losing the gift of sight and gaining the curse of loneliness,
His parents reach out with open arms.
But he has drifted too far.
He can no longer hear their cries.
All he can hear is himself crying out in fear.
He wonders if anything will ever be the same again.
He thinks back to when it all started.
He reaches as far as he can reach, but nothing except the cold air.
He paddles and paddles for his life, but it’s no use.
Lost at sea with no way home.
