Lost For Words Poem by Stuart Doggett

Lost For Words

One day I woke up
And found that I had you,
I flirted with ideas
And managed to keep you.

We stayed together
And I gave myself to you,
I was happy,
We grew together, me and you.

I listened to their songs,
It sounded like you,
It drew me in,
They temped me from you.

I tried to copy them,
To turn them in to you,
I was absorbed by them,
Lost in them, lost to you.

I spent so long looking
I lost the ability to see,
You slipped away.
I spent so long looking
I lost the ability to see,
And you slipped away.

Things got too complex
When it should be simple,
And now I’m blind
And lost for words to call you back.
Lost for words,
All the words,
Are lost.
