Lost In Your Eyes Poem by Mary Champion

Lost In Your Eyes

It was the greatest day,
it was a special night,
when I walked with you
and thrilled at your touch.
It was a magic day,
it was too brief a night,
when I talked with you
and admitted so much.
And, for all that we
were not alone or free,
there was no one else
for a million miles.
Now I could clearly see
you are my destiny,
and when you looked at me,
my soul got lost in your eyes.

And then you walked me home
and I was all alone
with the memory of
your urgent embrace.
When will we meet again,
and my heart beat again
with the joy of knowing
I've found my place?

I couldn't have you then
and I do not know when
I will ever be holding

my priceless prize.
Can't cross the borderline,
although this love's divine,
and when your gaze met mine,
my soul got lost in your eyes.
