Lotus. Poem by Ray Sinclair

Lotus.

Upon the rising of dawns golden lances,
beneath the dark, murky waters, a flower dances.
In the midst of this still, muddy lake,
magnificent bloom will emerge, for beauty's sake.

Sun now high radiates a gentle warmth,
vibrant colours soon brought forth.
Upon the surface, light of day,
delicate petals unfold, natures beautiful array.

As the lotus grows from dark to light,
so must we, never give up the fight.
Child of the universe no less, no more,
find strength and beauty, or life's a chore.
