i fell in love with a boy.
except he didn't know I did.
his laughs and stupid, stupid jokes made me the happiest.
i fell in love with him when i realized he was talking to while he was eating.
i fell in love every second I spent with him.
i fell in love so hard that now I see him everywhere
in the rain, in almonds, in unread texts.

i fell in love with a boy.
except he absolutely broke my heart.
i wonder if I'd be the same without him
i wonder if I'd be okay if I hadn't met him
would I have fallen in love with some other boy.

i fell in love with a boy.
except I'll forever be in love with him.
I'll search for him in every person I meet
look for his smile in every crowd.

i fell in love with a boy.
and I'll wonder forever if he ever loved me back
if only I had the courage to call him
the courage to perhaps face rejection
if only i hadn't fallen in love with that boy.
