Love In Turmoil Poem by Ankur Shrivastava

Love In Turmoil

She wakes up,
Bruised and beaten,
Swollen eyes, aching body,
Scars left on her pretty face.
A split lip.

He wakes up,
Drugged, out of his senses,
A shattered soul,
A broken heart.

His two pleading eyes afix,
Oh! he didnt't mean to hurt.
Love ashamed.

Her tears ending on his chest,
It couldn't have been he,
She is sure.
Just another bad dream.

He holds her again.
Too tight for her liking.
Suffocating.

A forced kiss,
A split lip.
Passion left wanting,
Love deprived of grace.

They turn away...
Utter disgust!
