In the shadowed realm of love's sweet dance,
A truth revealed, a chilling glance,
Within my heart, a fear does reign,
A terror born, a soul in pain.
I've tasted love, its tender touch,
Emotional bonds, they mean so much.
Yet, deeper paths, I fear to tread,
The fear of pain, the trust misled.
For when I found truth's hidden guise,
Lies unveiled behind lover's eyes,
The strings of trust, they snapped and tore,
Leaving scars I can't ignore.
Each fractured trust, a shattered part,
Mending it, an elusive art.
The fragrant bloom of love once whole,
Now tainted by this gaping hole.
Trust, the cornerstone of all we share,
Easily broken, beyond repair.
The once warm ember, now burnt and cold,
Leaving a story, untold, untold.
Thus, I stand amidst love's debris,
Haunted by what I now can see.
For love requires a faith untamed,
A trust that's never quite the same.
