i think this is a great poem. it's deeply practical and humorously truthful. seems your words capture the glee/sting/sacrificial tension involved in a loving relationship. this is the kind of poem i'd like to read a chapter or book on, because the poem only leaves me feeling hungry for more.
That is the thing about love, it never ends. Especially if you have found a love that is honest and true consuming all what you have said glee/sting/sacrificial tension etc. Reminds me of one of my favorite quotes, “It isn’t possible to love and part. You will wish that it was. You can transmute love, ignore it, muddle it, but you can never pull it out of you. I know by experience that the poets are right: love is eternal.” — E.M. Forster Love is never really over.
