Love Of A Lifetime Poem by alexandra hicks

Love Of A Lifetime

sitting here looking out my window
trying to find where the hell the time goes
my mother said there'd be days when
i would start to feel that making
love was for more than thrills
she said there'd be one to make my head spin
around and make my heart skip without a single sound
she said love is kind
she said love is hard to find and i know it
she said when the time is right
she said dont put up a fight
she said its gonna be right and you'll know it but
I aint...
i aint looking for love
i aint looking for dreams that all come true
i aint looking for happy ever after
but what if its true
but i cant let go
cause i still have hope and maybe one day ill find my love of a lifetime
one day my father said dont you worry
cause love is hard to find
if you keep on looking you may lose your mind
he just kept saying that i would find the one
if i just be patient love is sure to come
now it aint bout sex,
it aint bout cash or empty romance
but what i need is that someone
to give me a chance to try and love me for all im worth
but its not the right time and im not settling down
but maybe one day when this feeling feels to good how will i know
that its love for sure lets not pretend that i dont have feelings
we came here made in two's
so theres someone for me and you
i wont be tied down
no settling right now
we started out as just friends
but thats not where the story ends
we never asked for nothing more the feeling just came more and more
i heard your voice or saw you
at the end we found the love of our lifetime..
