Love Puffs Poem by robert fort

Love Puffs

I fell in love with Pall Mall
swiped from parent packs
well before 12, I fell in.
Pall Mall (rhyme with smell)
red crested satisfaction
there was no going back.

But then filtertips spoke
health, Pall Mall deferred.
The wandering years began
Camels & Kents, Benson & Hedges
a misbehaving menthol now & then
butterfly love, unsuited to a man.

Around the year 2000
Pall Mall went filtered,2for1.
Old heart fires burned in the ash
the kingly-crested lions ruled
a new affair, now deeper, begun.
A smoke screen romance.
A marriage to a love,
still hot from youth.
