Love's Final Breath Poem by Ryan Lee Morris

Love's Final Breath

I know it is time.
I must shut the door.
I know you do not.
Love me anymore.

You're seeking yourself.
Which I hope you do find.
And I hope it's worth all.
That you're leaving behind.

I wish I had give you.
All that you craved.
It hurt when you told me.
That we couldn't be saved.

I knew coming clean.
The risk I would take.
To make our love new.
Hoping your love would wake.

But it put it to sleep.
Then it put it to death.
I cry when I think of.
Our love's final breath.

Your love is now faded.
It's faded to black.
Your heart I now realize.
Is not coming back.

My path I now venture.
With you not by my side.
Your heart was once full.
Now it's empty and dried.

I did what I could.
But it did not suffice.
My ultimate failure.
Cost the ultimate price.

My heart is so sad.
I feel my heart crying.
As I watch what I cherish.
Lay in front of me dying.

As much as it hurts.
I now set you free.
To be all that you want,
And all you can be.

So goodbye my sweet love.
We can't be together.
But in my heart and my soul
You'll be with me forever.
