Love's Reality Poem by kaylem 479

Love's Reality

When I was younger I had always dreamed
Of falling in love with the one I'm destined
Just like how my parents found each other
I wanted to meet my star-crossed lover

Like Cinderella's happy ever after
I want to fall in love and stay with him forever
Yes! That was my heart's only plea
That is until I came to face reality

Suddenly my love's happiness had disappear
Replaced by misery and painful tears
My heart's innocence was completely stolen
By a boy who left me utterly broken

He told me he loved me and look through my eyes
And I was to naive to see through his lies
I thought for sure that he was the one
But now he's just a terrible mistake I've done

I shouldn't have mixed my fantasies with reality
Cause all it did was bring me aching misery
But now I realized the mistakes I've made
And for them I have suffered and greatly paid

It took tears and pain to awaken my heart
To love's sad and dreadful part
And now I know it isn't just fairy tales and fantasy
Sometimes it hurts and that's love's reality
