I wish I hated you my little elf
But I don’t love you enough to keep you on my shelf
Your eyes are scornful, your lips austere,
Your face oh so very full of fear,
Your heart is burnt, blackened, seared,
Your passion dissipated and sever.
Love ‘looked you up’ and scuttled off!
I feel so sorry for you my dear,
What is love?
To you is an unknown!
What is passion?
Is a pint of beer!
‘Love’ for you is an unknown phrase
Of fun and drink and your career,
Your son is but another boy,
A ‘word’ that flew and bit your ear,
He may be to you a cuddly chap,
You claim you love him,
Of love you have no idea!
