A mind may see a thousand eyes
Though the heart yearns for two
When the eyes we love are grown and gone
To a life with someone new.

Eyes of love, like planets at night
Use borrowed light to shine.
Eyes are the living lenses
To the camera of our mind.

Eyes tend to believe themselves
Like the blind love of mothers.
Eyes speak without words
To the hearts and souls of others.

Who do we trust for wisdom and love
Who gives thanks to our Lord above?
Who shares awareness both night or day
She who reminds us to protect, love and pray!
