Loving Him Poem by Elizabeth Muller

Loving Him

Rating: 5.0

You know that feeling that you get when someone you love comes near.
The kind that when they touch you, all your feelings shift a gear
And when they speak all you can do is listen, grin and smile
The pain of knowing that you and him will never walk the aisle

And when you see his shining face, you wish that it was yours
To hold, to touch, to kiss all night. To cradle in your arms
For him to be the one that will forever be with you
Brings cheer and joy into your life but there's nothing you can do

You can wish and hope that one day soon he'll find out you're the one
So he can hold you, touch you, kiss you all the days to come
To cherish him with all your heart is all that you can do
Even if it means as friends, but you know it's not true

You'll always have a place for him, inside within your heart
He'll never know the pain you feel the days you are apart
As much as you would like for him to try and understand
You wouldn't want for him to feel the pain that you withstand

So, as for now, the most that you can do is sit and smile
And do not tell him all the feelings that you've had a while
And pray for him that someone just as caring, sweet as you
Will come along and care for him as you would want them to

Wonderful poem. I understand it completely. This is going in my favourites list for sure. I deliberately stay out of relationships, and I hide my feelings from those who I love to prevent them from being hurt by my feelings. This is a great poem. Worth more praise than I can say.
