Mad Man's Wonderland - Poem by Ricky Bryant
Welcome back to Wonderland, it's real as real can't be
I've noticed things have changed a bit, I step in and I see.
A dark foreboding odyssey of dreams and life combine
Hallucinations, rampant thoughts of in and far behind.
Flip, turn, spin out, forest of our thoughts.
Yesterday is coming fast, and tomorrow has been caught.
Fill your head with make-believe, tell me what is real.
A glass half empty speeds on by as I begin to feel.
A stack of cards comes marching by to catch the walrus man.
The Red Queen bleeds from fingertips, and feels she's going mad.
Here comes The Hatter my old friend as mad as I am deep.
To tell me tales of woe and wonder, into my mind he'll creep.
I'll double over back again, and turn around on top.
I beg for mercy though we know I never want to stop.
The rabbit hole goes just this far, then starts back up once more.
As I fall deeper, life goes by, now please, just shut the door.
