Magician - Poem by Francisca Darko
He grabs and he snatches
Unlucks all the latches
The words that he clutches
Are the sparks that he patches
The wand as he brushes
Waves and turns and swoshes
The air spins and dashes
He stands and he watches
The heating as it rushes
It spills and it gushes
It zips then it dashes
It flames then it hushes
The letters that smashes
They dive and crashes
They rhyme and smashes
For words that lashes
In his hand, he fetches
The wand, replenished
He peers at the ashes
The poem is finished
