Make Light Work

Rating: 5.0

We hear in church “The Truth is mine”
“My home’s with God above”
But who has Light and fails to shine Isa.60: 1
Is wasting Jesus love

Perhaps such words sound harsh and cruel
Judgemental and absurd
But wisdom sees it as a rule
And Jesus’ loving word Mt.5: 14

Salvation’s not a trend or quirk
A harbour meant for rest
For light to shine, it first must work!
In darkness to be blessed

We must consider those yet lost
Those battered torn and bound
However high our personal cost
Making them safe and sound

Many may fail many may fall
Suffering sweat and pain
But standing true to Jesus’ call
We live to live again

To shine! The bride must first arise
In armour fit to fight
Helping, loving, opening eyes
Through Jesus’ wondrous Light

Get up from out our snug warm chair
From off our favourite pew
Give others love show personal care
As Christ Himself, would do

Salvation’s not a frivolous thing
No sermon spoken sweet
Or with some friends nice songs to sing
Sitting at someone’s feet
