Words can hide, words can bend,
Make a wrong look like a friend.
'Epic Fury, ' not the pain,
Of lives all broken, lost in vain.
'Collateral Damage, ' soft and mild,
Hides the screams of mother and her child.
Houses crumbled, futures gone,
Just a term, from dusk till dawn.
Passive voice, a sneaky art,
Hides the blame, tears apart.
Who did this? We cannot see,
Just a thing that 'came to be.'
Be careful of the words you hear,
Is it truth, or just a fear?
See past the gloss, the painted sheen,
Find the heart, where truth is seen.
