Manta Poem by Allan Hayes

Manta

Out of a dark that holds back the whole ocean
She appears from the silent black of the deep
An apparition in motion without moving
Through the landscape of dreams

She enters into the pool of light
Skimming the heads of the bubble ones
With a quiet presence from the far beyond
In the deep of sleep where phantasies repose

In your own mind where these dreams appear
The Manta is a dream with wings
She sings with quiet gliding silence
A spell of the majesty within

Beyond the light, the receding dark
Keeps all secrets, harboring the aquarium
Of restless visions that fill your night
With dreams that make you wake

Manta
