Mask Poem by Varun Rao

Mask

Why? Can't I put on a mask?
Easy as that.
A perfect cataract.
Another shade, another face.
On just for the worlds taste.
Can't I put on a mask?

But this mask,
Made ports with day.
An easy melt,
for it is soft as clay.
Another mask,
Hide what stays.
Another mask,
On for a day to days.

When time slows,
Quick do days roll by.
Face after face
Covering the hearts eye.

Alas can you remember?
A strong one,
Burdened by masks to weak.
Silently he watches,
In silence he weeps.
