Masked Strength: A Silent Battle Poem by Lilith Van'Nightinveil

Masked Strength: A Silent Battle

In shadows' silent weight I stand,
Holding worlds with trembling hand.
A pressure deep, a hidden strife,
To be the rock in every life.

Yet underneath this steadfast guise,
Lies a heart that often cries.
Numb and empty, I persist,
As though my soul were in a twist.

Each effort feels like not enough,
Though I try to be so tough.
Masking pain, a broken chord,
Not wanting to be a burden, ignored.

My bones, they ache, my spirit quakes,
As if the world upon me breaks.
To move could shatter, tear apart,
The fragile strength within my heart.

I yearn to scream into the night,
Release the rage, the inner fight.
But still, I stand, I bear the weight,
While anger simmers, sealed by fate.

For hurting those who caused me pain,
Could break me too, a heavy chain.
So here I stand, strong yet frail,
Behind this mask, a hidden tale.

In solitude, I've built my wall,
To shield myself from others' thrall.
But in the silence, darkness creeps,
And in my dreams, the secret weeps.

Each sunrise brings a brand new day,
Yet I'm confined in shades of gray.
A prisoner of my own design,
Yearning for a lifeline to untwine.

The world's demands, they never cease,
A never-ending quest for inner peace.
I long to lay this burden down,
To cast aside the iron crown.

But still, I persevere and strive,
To keep the flame of hope alive.
Though I may falter, bend, or sway,
I rise again, another day.

This silent strength, a heavy toll,
An endless battle for control.
To let them in, to share the pain,
Or bear it all, alone, in vain?

In the abyss, I search for light,
A beacon in the endless night.
To find release, to heal, to mend,
And let my broken spirit ascend.

So, here I am, with heart laid bare,
A soul that yearns for someone to care.
In this struggle, I find my song,
A testament to the resilient throng.

For strength is not a solitary feat,
But the courage to admit defeat.
To ask for help, to share the weight,
And find in love, a kindred trait.

In unity, we face the storm,
No longer need we stand forlorn.
Together, we can bear the load,
And pave a path where hearts can ode.
