Matching Scars (Unwrap Him) Poem by Timmy Tubbs

Matching Scars (Unwrap Him)

Rating: 3.3

I will not run to you
For you will not know this new man
He is not the boy in the gazebo with a rapid heart
But he is also not the kid drunk in someone’s bed
Tearing you apart

So someday, you may unwrap this gift
Though it’s not for anyone in particular
But should be the one with matching scars
You will not be left behind
Holding on to my pocket pointing out the deceitful paths
But hopefully, I’ll get it right most times
