'Maybe' Poem by Angel Crabtree

'Maybe'

No matter how I try.
I still see in your mind.
Maybe I could say something brilliant.
Maybe I should be more resilient.
Maybe I could, but I won't.
I've been listening to that song.
That if I cry I am wrong.
Be a big girl and tighten my brow?
No thanks, I'll take that blanket now!
Am I wrong to assume I'm still a flower in bloom?
Are you right when you say I am just built this way?
Maybe I'll grow and it's all just for show.
Maybe I could, but I don't.
