My thoughts—
Scattered in trenches of the self,
Swaying on waves of hope and despair—
Perhaps they themselves are an endless ocean,
That meet, part, then meet again,
Collide with the shore and gasp in pain,
Then retreat into silence of the Infinite.
Sometimes they drag me from desolate graves,
Sometimes shove me into dark caves,
Or I wander their deserted lanes,
Or they dissolve within me.
They've wrapped me—
Like a shroud,
And in this shroud,
I am nothing but a thought.
Am I too just a thought,
Molded into the form of existence?
I wish to touch the source of this thought,
To kiss the cheeks drowned
In Mansarrah's cold waters…
Is it even possible
For one to kiss one's own cheek?
Every passing shadow whispers your name,
And now my final wish is—
Not in trenches of the self,
But in the silent depths of Mansarrah,
To dissolve, and be lost.
