Meet Me There Poem by Starfish ZA

Meet Me There

You carry stories you never tell
Of broken dreams and last farewells
Those tired eyes, they hide the rain
Of all the things you couldn't save
Your voice is rough, but soft somehow
Like you've been lost, but you've been found
And even when the silence hurts
There's still a smile between your words

And I don't need to know it all
The nights you cried, the times you'd fall
If all the world has left you cold
There's somewhere only we can go

So meet me there
Where the world can't touch us
Where the stars don't fade
And the hurt can't find us
Meet me there
Where the broken find peace
Where you can lay your burdens down
And just breathe with me
Beyond the sorrow, beyond despair
If you ever need a place to hide
I'll meet you there

You're a once-in-a-lifetime kind of soul
With a thousand scars the world won't know
You speak so softly of the past
Like something beautiful that couldn't last
And I can hear beneath your laugh
The echoes of a life you had
But there's a warmth you haven't lost
A little light despite the cost

You don't have to hide your pain
Or learn to smile through it again
You don't have to be so strong
You've carried everything too long

So meet me there
Where the world can't touch us
Where the stars don't fade
And the hurt can't find us
Meet me there
Where the broken find peace
Where you can lay your burdens down
And just breathe with me
Beyond the sorrow, beyond despair
If you ever need a place to hide
I'll meet you there

And if tomorrow takes its toll
If all the light turns dark and cold
Remember there's a place somewhere
Where you don't have to be repaired
No need for words, no need to pretend
No broken hearts we have to mend
Just you and me, beneath the sky
Where nothing beautiful has to die

Meet me there
Where the world can't touch us
In a world without pain
Where nothing can break us
Meet me there
In our little piece of peace
Where all the things you've lost before
Don't have to be what you believe
And when the world becomes too much to bear
Close your eyes, I'll meet you there

Your tired eyes, your gentle voice
The scars you never had a choice
And that little smile beneath your words
In a place beyond this world
I'll meet you there.
