Melancholy Poem by Michael Oluwasegun Adesiji

Melancholy

How do I wipe the tears of others
With mine steaming beyond palms care?
How do I get love calls
With a shattered heart in cuffs
Only beating in deep scare?
How do I clean the bleeding cuts of people
With mine bleeding so deep
Yet unseen to people?

How do I tell the world
About a pandemic that ruins my world
Far beyond the worldly one
About the deceitful faces I fix
For all happy eyes to see
About the fevers, the headaches
The shivers and the lengthy sighs
For a missing hope from my isolated space?

How do I tell the world that my writings
Are my only vaccines in the faces of throes
Till a solution shows?
How do I tell the world about
My wish to be quarantined
Somewhere below dusty soles
In a bunker of rest
So laid my soul
With feets and miles
Off my earthly woes.
