Melodie Mezoree’ Meets Igot Poem by Suzanna C Chevalier

Igot meets Melodie with her yellow hair,
he introduces himself as Igot and shares;
“This is the sunniest time of year,
I welcome you Melodie with good cheer! ”
Igot extends his claw and gives her a shell,
she is thankful and introduces herself as Mel.
The shell is bright and has a spark,
it will help her see in the ocean when dark.
Melodie begins to speak with a voice so sweet,
Igot notices she has a mermaid tail with no feet.
“Oh, thank you Igot, you are so kind,
I will put this shell on my bracelet that shines.”
They go to Dave’s Restaurant down the street,
they eat a cake made out of sweet cheese.
It’s the best Reese’s Cup Pie,
it’s so great they tip the waitress a five.
Then Melodie waves and says goodbye,
Igot replies “Bye Melodie, see you next time! ”
