Merciless Time Poem by A. David Abraham

Merciless Time

Long languid days
Horrific in their length and breath
Reminder of all left undone

When will you give me peace
When will you give me respite
How long will you hound me?
Propel me with fantasias of unfulfilled goals
Of life unlived and unloved

Where is the end of that?
So there can be a beginning

Life passes long with time
Days pass long with years
Time passes long as love dies
Evaporates into thin air

My treasure trove of memories
Which I pick out one by one

Lost loves -and love lost

Where is the end to it all
