In truth! We are just what we eat
And so seems nature’s plan
From mother milk, we turn to meat
Nourishing mortal man
But man is more than flesh and bone
Inside we’re spirit too
Which no one sees but God alone
Until we’re born anew
The spirit needs what Jesus said Mt.4: 4
The world may find it odd
Man cannot live alone from bread
He needs to feed on God
While earthly fare makes fat and sleek
Our spirit too must feed
For this! The Truth of God’s to seek
To meet life’s vital need
While day and night the body dies
Yet God may so arrange
Like grubs turn into butterflies
We too through Christ can change
Made pregnant; through God’s awesome Dove
Inside a soul aglow
We thrive on Heavens’ perfect love
And through God’s Word we grow
In death, we reach the pupa stage
God’s sheep in Christ will see
Until the spirit comes of age
We’re never truly free
Set free with eagles now to fly
Set free to serve in love
Set free to rise beyond the sky
And live through Christ above…
