Migration - Poem by Dilantha Gunawardana

I cried the night you left
Tears that outpoured like the monsoons
As my lungs wailed incessantly
Yet amidst the stormy skies and dark ominous clouds
I found a rainbow to heal me of your absence
A pledge that we will meet again soon
At an airport in a mysterious land
Where in a rendez-vous of shoulders
Is a prelude to a homely kiss
