Mind Like Birds Poem by Sam Raj

Mind Like Birds

Like the migratory birds.
That takes flight from cold,
and murky Wintery sky.
Seeking brighter,
and sunny destinations.

So shall it be that you,
shall ruffle your feathers.
Spread wings of your desire.

And soar the sky,
leaving the damp,
dark and cold,
winter of your life.
Seeking the warmth,
of the sunny blue sky.

Consider, please,
don't abandon us.
Devoid of your goodbye,
I Will be riddled with guilt.
Knowing I couldn't deliver.
Perhaps, wax and wane,
away, in the gloom.

Like the splendid moon.
Trying to cast her glow,
showing the way,
in the darkness.
Dark clouds hover beneath
blocking her radiance.
Shedding a shroud of darkness.

I've strived my best,
to put your agitated mind to unwind.
Exhausted all the avenues.
To bring repose to your disposition.

The fact of the substance,
lies in the truth.
I am still naive,
Of your ailment.

In the darkness,
my words like flickering,
fireflies glow.
Ignite in you,
a glimmer of hope.

I can’t but, chide you thus.
You don’t express in voice.
Nor, in person meet.
For one, to empathise.
