Mirage Poem by M.J. Williams

Mirage

Once, on midsummer's day,
I was journeying through the land.

Journeying through the desert,
I wander,
I search,
I wait,
I long.

On this midsummer's day,
I journey to find peace,
to find purpose.

The sun beams down on me.
The wind of the heat intense.
The sand dry and tough.

Then,
I saw you.

A beautiful creature,
with the aura of an angel.

An image of beauty,
special angel of light.

Like a flower in the desert,
you are soft, forbidden, sweet, and kind.

Someday I hope to see you again.
I want to see you again.

But for now,
you are just a mirage
to me.
