Missing Poem by tara fortier

Missing

A brush without the paint
The sky without the stars
A tortured soul, missing needless scars
These are things that should always be
Yet they are nowhere to be found
Like an empty forest without the tree
That should be addicted to the ground.

A prison missing bars
A highway losing cars
These are things that should always be.
Yet they are nowhere to be found.
Like a lock without a key.
And a drum without the sound.

I took much more than I could chew and laid it on my plate.
A soul that resides without my heart
will be setenced to decide my fate
Should love come soon or later.
you will see this should not be.
A world in which we are not together.
