Missing Bird Poem by Smrutiranjan Parida

Missing Bird

Ceased her chirruping, her muttering songs,
Her heart quenching notes of all's desire
Her fluttering wings passed the sky,
Forever and ever, away and away
Reached the goal unknown;
the unseen shadow of life's summer,
The unheard song of among the war.

She was a tired bird,
Whose wings were moaning the tears of blood,
Whose heart was throbbing the tales of thoughts,
Who was going to die,
She who failed to fly so high,
And to slide between earth and sky
She who lost faith in day,
And night frightened more than death,

She choose to say goodbye,
To hide between the mist and sky,
And to sleep a slumber under the soil,
She missed herself and cleaned the footprints
