Mona Lisa Poem by Paul G. Kallen

Mona Lisa

The palace on the rock is not lit by the sun.
Pre-storm surroundings forecast a disaster.
She is tranquil being pregnant with a son
Who promises to be the Greatest Master.

They say, Gioconda is Maestro in disguise,
He saw himself in the modelling woman.
She looks at me with Leonardo’s eyes,
A perfect woman is rare among humans.

Cognition and Perfection were the drives
Da Vinci had in following the nature.
Producing life is the essence of our lives.
Alas, nowadays it’s only a conjecture.
